Stupid Rich People's Problems

So. Not to be unsympathetic, but to the rich fool Joanna Cutler who lives in the newly renovated Plaza bloodied her hands trying to claw her way out of a garbage room in which she was trapped: I cannot believe stories like this make it to page THREE of the stupid NY Post. How many people are subjected to living in boxes or in freezing cold apartments or are forgotten in emergency rooms in hospitals by an overwhelmed or neglectful staff? I could go on and on but CHRIST I cannot feel much pain for the poor little Faberge egg-clutching Q-tip when there are REAL horrors happening daily in this city to REAL people. Get over it, get a manicure and more Botox and SHUT THE HELL UP.
p.s. note her likeness to ole Grinch. Yes, I am being petty and mean.

Idea for a website.

I think there should be a site called "Did anybody else hear that?" for all the strange and/or scary things people hear in New York (or see. or SMELL.) and don't know what is going on. It happens to me alllll the time...just a couple weeks ago I heard a big thundery sound at night and though it may have been actual thunder, it was a single clap, with no other claps, and then I heard what sounded like an F-16 flying by shortly thereafter. So, of course, I think something has exploded, and I go looking for info on the news and on the internet, and there is nothing, and I feel scared and paranoid and also feel stupid for being scared and paranoid. So I think I should start a site where nuts like me can write about weird, scary things.

ughhh. Too much wine last night....

....but I got to hang with my family, the Pizzarelli-Molaskey crew. John cooked up some rigatoni with red sauce (outta this world) and opened a bottle-o-red while I ran back and forth watching Idol with Maddie and the debates with John. Jessica came home from Sunday in the Park and we all watched the Hill and Obama finish up their chat. Then I made the fatal mistake of going to Elaine's...more red wine,Elaine yelled at me for not showing up to watch the Oscars "why do you always fuck up that way?!" and Tony Danza joined the table. Energetic dude...very positive, happy, and obviously takes good care of himself...57 years old and still acting like he's 20. In a good way. Elaine made poor Ashley B. (an aspiring writer who has given up his day job at a financial firm...unwisely, methinks) buy another bottle of vino, and now I am in the first throes of what is sure to be a worsening hangover.....

Adding Machine at The Minetta Lane

My friend Amy Warren is starring in this fantastic musical at the Minetta Lane...got great reviews today, and in "Sightings" (Page Six in the NYPost) apparently Stephen Sondheim leapt out of his chair at curtain call to yell "Bravo" at opening night last night....pretty cool. Go see it.

Roxbury Tavern

My cool Uncle Tom Gresser has a bar north of Madison, Wisconsin - called the Roxbury Tavern. It's like Elaine's meets Northern Exposure. He serves home-cooked locally grown food, locally brewed beer, and hosts bands, political events, artists, writers, liberal-minded folk, farmers, university profs and students, and whomever else happens by. There's no TV, no jukebox, no swearing, and it closes by 10 pm. Tom has the greatest laugh and sense of humor, makes delicious food, and won't let you blab on your cell phone in his bar. Thank frickin god. Go visit him. Tell him I sent ya, hey?

Sunday in the Park with George! See it!!

My dear friend Jessica Molaskey is in this wonderful production of Sunday in the Park with George at Studio 54...I cannot wait to see it...it got rave reviews in all the papers today.

Let it snow!

It's beautiful in NYC this morning....7 to 10 inches of snow predicted...being from Wisconsin, I freakin' LOVE it. Snow makes the city so quiet and soft for a brief while.... I want a snow day to go out and play in the park.....

St. John Sunset

A good start.

Here goes.... this site will evolve and change daily. I'm not sure what it will be, but it's a start nonetheless....

I'm a comedian. I have a day job at a law firm. I am attempting to get back to the creative person I was before I started caring more about being a good paralegal than being an artist... good or bad. Enough is enough.
