Roxbury Tavern

My cool Uncle Tom Gresser has a bar north of Madison, Wisconsin - called the Roxbury Tavern. It's like Elaine's meets Northern Exposure. He serves home-cooked locally grown food, locally brewed beer, and hosts bands, political events, artists, writers, liberal-minded folk, farmers, university profs and students, and whomever else happens by. There's no TV, no jukebox, no swearing, and it closes by 10 pm. Tom has the greatest laugh and sense of humor, makes delicious food, and won't let you blab on your cell phone in his bar. Thank frickin god. Go visit him. Tell him I sent ya, hey?

My last midwest swing included the Roxbury and a visit with Tom. He was throwing a graduation party for one of the local sisters that work for him. Great fun, good guy, my fiance' Annie was there a couple days ago with her pals Marie from Milwaukee and Lisa from Black Earth.

Hi Helene

Visited Roxbury last week and had a good breakfast of Blue Berry Whole Wheat pancakes and sausage. My Daughter, Sue and her fiancee, Dave joined me. Had nice visit with Tom, haven't seen him in 40 years! Just as we were finishing up, a car drove up and JP popped out! With Karen, Lisa and Pam!

What a coincidence! Haven't met Lisa or Pam before, haven't seen Karen since Rose's wedding. We all reintroduced ourselves and talked about old times and you.

We were all flabergasted at the coincedence and hope to meet again sooner than this time.

Roxbury Tavern has great food and amibience... sure wish you spell check... I highly recommend it to everyone.

Your cool uncle Tom's bar is just about my favorite place in the world (on a par with the Union Terrace).

I can only get out there a few times a year, but please tell him how much it is appreciated.
